W: Good afternoon. Thanks for booking a tour at this office complex.

M: I'm excited to check it out. I've been wanting to work in this area because of all the parks and beautiful trails nearby. I've heard so many good things about this location - being surrounded by nature is definitely a plus. This complex is newly built, right?

W: Yep. Actually, our first tenants started moving in just yesterday. Before I show you around some units, can you please put on this visitor badge first? It's just a quick security measure we have in place for all our tours.

M: Oh, yeah, sure.

W: Ryan, our morning catch was quite fresh today! I noticed you're assigned to some salmon and seabass deliveries in the Salinas District. Why haven't you headed out yet?

M: I was planning to leave in about two hours or so. Did a restaurant in the Salinas District request an early delivery for their fish?

W: No, but I'm worried about traffic on Interstate 101. It stays pretty congested even after rush hour, so it's always best to add at least an hour to your travel time.

M: Thanks for the advice. I'll make sure to check the traffic reports on local news websites, too.

M: Hi, Rashida. Our supplier just dropped off the new uniforms for your employees. I'm going to bring them over to your branch this afternoon.

W: Thanks, Rob! And we need to make sure the old uniforms are recycled. It would be very wasteful to just throw them away. Could you find out what our options are?

M: No problem! Since the old shirts and pants don't feature our company branding, they could maybe be used by other people.

W: Exactly! We could even donate them to a homeless shelter. The one on Wells Street might be interested. One of us should ask them.

M: Well, I'll be passing Wells Street this afternoon. It's on my way to your branch.

W: That would be ideal.

W1: Debbie, Calvin, I'd like to hear your ideas for improving staff morale in our workplace.

W2: Well, it's best that we listen to Calvin's ideas first, since he was successful in motivating staff at his previous job.

M: Well, I feel the best way to boost employee morale is to set targets and rewards. For instance, at this company, we could reward employees who sell a certain number of sofas or dining tables.

W1: Great idea.

M: Why don't we start by looking at the sales figures for our 3-seater sofas? Then we can set a target for staff and announce an attractive bonus.

W: Hello, Sebastian. We were just mentioning our thoughts about our firm's new remote work policy. It's always difficult to find a good workstation whenever I come into the office.

M2: Same, I don't like how unpredictable it is each time. It'd be so much better if we could just sign up for a workstation in advance. Don't you agree?

M1: Yeah, that's a good idea. Let's go to our chief supervisor and ask her about this.

M2: Want to go now? I think she's in her office.

W: Oh, I need to finish a report by 5 o'clock, so you guys go ahead.

W: As you can see, this is an original watercolor by the famous Spanish painter, Armando Salinas. The painting itself is still in perfect condition, but the frame is badly cracked. I'm wondering whether you can fix it.

M: Well, I usually only work on contemporary artworks and frames, and the picture you have here is very old. In order to complete the project for you, I'll need to speak with our art restoration manager, Mr. Rickard.

W: That's fine. My only concern is that it may cost too much to have the work done. Unfortunately, I'm on a limited budget.

M: I know. I've already contacted Image Experts, a business that specializes in taking pictures of property. The owner of the business is coming here t o meet me at 11 A.M. today.

W2: I'm happy to be here. There are several ways to market products online. What did you have in mind ?

M: Well, we've been considering working with popular social media influencers and having them endorse our products. We looked into it, though, and many of them request high fees.

W2: Well, one way t o lower costs is to provide them with free products or a lifetime discount. Of course, that means you'd need to work with an individual who genuinely likes your products.

M: Let me check the details for that. So... it seems like starting this year, your account has had a monthly maintenance fee, which fluctuates based on your account balance.

As you all know, we have found it difficult to break into foreign markets with our clothing ranges. I heard that another sportswear manufacturer overcame this issue by taking on an innovative strategy. They contacted famous sports celebrities in foreign markets and paid them to endorse their products, and it had a significant impact on sales. If we had endorsements from a few famous athletes, we could boost our brand recognition overseas. This would be a new approach for us, so l've invited Pamela Shepard from Global Consulting to our next meeting. Ms. Shepard provides expert advice to businesses on how to market products overseas.

The Sinclair Gazette

December 13 — ---[139]---. The museum, which is one of the city's most beloved historical landmarks, has stood on the corner of Markham Road and Drexler Street since its construction in 1934. In all that time, it has barely been modified, and many parts of the building have never changed at all since it was first opened ---[140]---, all of the current fixtures and electrical systems are the original ones installed during the initial construction project.

Sinclair City Council has made funds available for a large-scale renovation project ---[141]--- to begin in March. The project will involve the installation of energy-efficient climate control systems, a complete modification of the museum's exterior, and the building of some new exhibit halls and visitor amenities for guests. Work will be completed in time for the museum's grand reopening on May 25th.

Local residents should expect some noise disruptions and minor traffic delays ---[142]--- the project is underway, although the city council assures the public that efforts will be made to minimize inconvenience.

Sharad, I stopped by Starlight Furniture. They have a decent selection of file cabinets, but not exactly the ones we need.

Shad Pavagi [3:08 P.M.]
What’s the matter? Surely the type of cabinet we are looking for is pretty common.

Tobatha Kemp [3:09 P.M.]
Well, they do carry two-drawer metal cabinets in the right size, and I had a look at some of them. The problem is that the drawers don’t lock.

Shad Pavagi [3:10 P.M.]
That’s disappointing. We definitely need that feature, as they’ll be used to hold our clients’ confidential paperwork and our employee contracts.

I am writing in response to the Summerton Golf Club’s recent notification about my membership, which is soon set to expire. I will not be renewing my membership as I have been greatly disappointed with your golf club.
You requested that I pay $50 to renew my membership. This is a sudden change from last year’s policy, which specified that members pay only 10% of their membership price for renewal.

Not only am I surprised at this unexplained price increase, but I am also baffled at your poor course maintenance. The greens have not been properly maintained and have created a terrible golfing experience.

First of all, congratulations on being promoted to full professor in the Department of Odontology at Navarro’s Medical School. The Odontology Faculty warmly welcomes you as a new member. Full professors are given their own office and an assistant professor. Please note that you are required to prepare a curriculum for next semester’s freshman class by next Wednesday. You must complete a budget bill and submit it to Mr. Luke Adamson, head of the school’s administration office, by October 30. You should include detailed information about your research; a specific draft budget; and a completed request form. Book Review: Team Dynamics: Building Effective Collaboration

This book is useful for anyone who wants to understand how teams function. The publisher, KL Publishing House, is one of my favorites because its Web site has supplemental case studies, templates, checklists, and more. As the book’s introduction provides foundational knowledge about managing teams in general, it would not be of much use to experienced managers. However, there are a lot of topics covered in the book’s essays. Ravi Anagal’s essay on conflict resolution provides numerous practical tools. I have already had the opportunity to try some of these strategies in my workplace, and they have been surprisingly successful. Ms. Lei’s advice for defining roles within the team was sensible and constructive.

I was deeply impressed with all of the essays in the book, with one exception. In my opinion, Frank Melgar’s commentary on increasing motivation was not broad enough. His methods would only work well on recognition-oriented individuals, which is a small percentage of most employees. Overall, despite some shortcomings, I believe that reading this book is well worth your time.

Dear Ms. Hudson,

I wanted to express how impressed I was by the recent Stratford Drama Society show. All the young cast members were very well-suited for their roles and performed them superbly, and your theatrical direction of the play was absolutely flawless. Because it was such a long play, I’m glad there was an intermission, as it gave me an opportunity to think about the narrative that had unfolded so far and discuss it with my companions. The storyline of the play was highly engaging and conveyed with clarity and emotion. I’ve always been interested in mysteries, and this show has inspired me to try my hand at writing my own mystery story. I think it will be a fulfilling way to make use of my spare time, and it is something I may not have considered had I not been so impressed with your play. I look forward to enjoying more of your shows this year.

All the best,

Dear Ms. Draper,

Thank you for placing an order with Luna Printing. Please find attached the receipt. As all of our items are custom-made, all sales are final once the customer confirms the design. We do not accept returns on any custom-printed items.
Please note that if you ordered online, the colors of the shirts may differ slightly from the real items, depending on your computer monitor’s settings. If you require a precise color match, we recommend visiting our shop in person at the Melrose Building, 4061 Roosevelt Road, to view samples.

Luna Printing offers free delivery within a five-mile radius of our shop. For locations outside of this area, a fee will be charged according to our courier partner’s rate. We hope you enjoy your custom-printed clothing, and we look forward to serving you again soon.

Dear Mr. Hale,
I've received the receipt for our recent order, but I'm wondering about the confirmation date.
I provided a file containing the design yesterday. Unfortunately, it was not the correct one. I e-mailed an updated file earlier this morning, and that is the one I confirmed. I've attached it here again to make sure that this is the design being used. We've ordered one T-shirt for each of our employees to wear at an upcoming retreat, so it is crucial that everything is correct. Could you please double-check the design prior to printing?

Thank you,
Evelyn Draper
